THIS UNIQUE CREEK HOMESTEAD LISTING includes organically grown and naturally sun-dried SHIITAKE MUSHROOMS.

Our premium organically farmed gourmet Shiitake mushrooms are home grown right here on our Unique Creek Homestead on hard wood logs from our forest! We have a small mushroom farm in a shady, damp area of our property back in our woods, were we grow and harvest our mushrooms. We harvest them at just the right time for maximum flavoring, then dry them for uses in soups, salads, stirfrys, Asian cuisines, pizza toppings, in spaghetti and other pasta dishes and MUCH more!

Remember, mushrooms are 92 percent water. When mushrooms are cooked, they release a lot of liquid! Dried mushrooms are 10% or less of their original weight but can be rehydrated quick and easily!

See drop down menu options for choices that include the beautiful, brand new 22 oz Mason Jar with sealed lid/hinge (new with tags) or without the jar. The jar is a thick glass and heavy, so remember when you see pricing and FREE shipping, that including the jar also costs us a much higher cost to ship.

ALL DRIED MUSHROOMS WEIGHTED ON PROFESSIONAL WEIGHT SCALE ON DAY OF SHIPMENT. They may settle in jar during shipment. Note...photo shows that 1.42oz fills the jar up! Any quantity purchase above what might fit in the jar will be included in a food-safe bag. If for ANY reason you feel this transaction is not worthy of 5-stars, please let us know what we can do to make you happy! We appreciate your business greatly! READY TO SHIP IN 1-3 BUSINESS DAYS!

  • Shiitake Mushroom Benefits & Uses
HEALTH BENEFITS: Shiitake mushroom is used for boosting the immune system, HIV/AIDS, lowering blood cholesterol levels, hardening of the arteries, diabetes, eczema, colds and flu, treating prostate or breast cancer, and as an anti-aging agent. It is also used for hepatitis B, herpes, high blood pressure, and stomach ache.

USES: Dried shiitake mushrooms are used in Chinese cooking and other Asian cuisines to add an intense umami flavor and fragrance to soups, stews, stir-fries, braised dishes, and more. The soaking liquid can also be used to add a rich mushroom flavor to soups and sauces.

REHYDRATION: Put the dried mushrooms in tepid water for at least 15 minutes, depending on how thick the dried mushrooms are. I like a narrow tall bowl to soak them in. This concentrates any potential debris or sand in the bottom of the bowl, leaving the rehydrating mushrooms floating in the clean water above.
