UNIQUE CREEK HOMESTEAD SEEDS: All of our seeds are grown right here on our Unique Creek Homestead and not sourced from elsewhere. All seeds are collected each growing season and are 1-year old or less, stored in air-tight Mason jars. Seeds are harvested and labeled for storage each season, one plant/seed type at a time so seeds do not get mixed by accident during the process! The seeds we use at the start of each growing season come from the exact same seeds we sell.
ABOUT THESE SEEDS: The 7 Pot Bubblegum Yellow is a rare, superhot chili pepper hybrid known for its "bleeding" calyx, where the yellow color of the ripened pepper stains its stem and cap. A cross between a Trinidad 7 Pot Yellow and a Trinidad Moruga Scorpion, it has a heat level similar to a Ghost Pepper (850,000-1,000,000 SHU) with a fast-acting, sweet, and fruity flavor. Its wrinkled, golf-ball-sized pods eventually mature to yellow, with the unique characteristic of this yellow color bleeding into the stem.Key Characteristics
Origin: United Kingdom, bred by Jon Harper. Parentage: A cross between a Trinidad 7 Pot Yellow and a Trinidad Moruga Scorpion.
Appearance: The pods are wrinkled and golf-ball-sized, developing from green to a pale yellow or cream color.
Signature Trait: The "bleeding calyx," where the pepper's yellow color stains the stem and calyx, resembling a piece of bubblegum.
Heat Level: Classified as a superhot, with a heat ranging from 850,000 to over 1,000,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU).
Flavor: Sweet and fruity with deep, building floral heat, though the extreme heat can make other flavors hard to appreciate.
Uses Due to its extreme heat and unique appearance, it's best for hot sauce enthusiasts and adventurous culinary uses.
Notes: As it is a third-generation cross, it may not be entirely stable, and not all pods will exhibit the bleeding calyx trait. Variations in color, such as white and cream phenotypes, can emerge
Sow seeds in flats or pots 8 to 10 weeks prior to the expected outdoor planting date. Sow them shallowly, around 1/4 inch deep. Hot peppers, and especially super-hot peppers, have a well-earned reputation for being finicky to germinate, but you can increase germination rates by providing bottom heat (highly suggested).

Scott & Melissa
