When mature, Hot Lemon Drop Chile peppers have a fruity flavor with prominent notes of lemongrass and citrus. The peppers are spicy and contain a direct, intense heat with a steady, tingling burn, but over time, the heat dissipates and does not linger.
The Aji Limon, also known as the Lemon Drop pepper, has a Scoville heat rating of 15,000–30,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). This makes it a spicy pepper, but the heat is short-lived and doesn't linger on the palate.
