The Naga Black Twister pepper is a visually striking, superhot chili known for its dark foliage and gnarly, twisted pods that transition from black to a lava-like ruby red with black blushing as they ripen. It's a popular choice for those seeking a unique, ornamental plant with intense heat and flavor.

Key Characteristics:

  • Appearance:

Dark foliage, elongated, bumpy pods that are initially black, then mature to a dark red with black highlights.

  • Heat Level:

A superhot pepper, with heat levels said to be between a Habanero and Ghost pepper. Rebec Valley Farm says it's in the 850,000-1,000,000 Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) range.

  • Flavor:

Reportedly has a surprising sweet aroma and taste, making it suitable for both hot sauce production and raw consumption.

  • Plant:

A relatively tall plant, reaching 3-4 feet in height, with a potential to be a stable variety, though some uncertainty remains about its filial generation, according to Rebec Valley Farm.

  • Origin:

Origin is unknown, but it is believed to be a cross between a Naga Morich and a Bhut Jolokia Chocolate.
