UNIQUE CREEK HOMESTEAD SEEDS: All of our seeds are grown right here on our Unique Creek Homestead and not sourced from elsewhere. All seeds are collected each growing season and are 1-year old or less, stored in air-tight Mason jars. Seeds are harvested and labeled for storage each season, one plant/seed type at a time so seeds do not get mixed by accident during the process! The seeds we use at the start of each growing season come from the exact same seeds we sell.
ABOUT THESE SEEDS: The Midnight Dreams Sweet Pepper (Capsicum annuum) is a striking heirloom bell pepper variety celebrated for its glossy, ebony-black to deep purple skin. It registers a 0 on the Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) scale, meaning it carries absolutely no heat and features a highly coveted, crisp, sweet, and slightly earthy flavor profile.
Physical Characteristics
Color Progression: Pods transition dynamically from emerald green to a dark mahogany-brown, eventually ripening into a dramatic, glistening blackish-purple with a purple-red interior.
Shape & Texture: They are traditional blocky, 4-lobed bell peppers built with exceptionally thick, juicy, and crunchy walls.
Plant Habit: The compact, open-pollinated plants typically reach 18 to 30 inches in height, making them highly manageable for small gardens.
