UNIQUE CREEK HOMESTEAD SEEDS: All of our seeds are grown right here on our Unique Creek Homestead and not sourced from elsewhere. All seeds are collected each growing season and are 1-year old or less, stored in air-tight Mason jars. Seeds are harvested and labeled for storage each season, one plant/seed type at a time so seeds do not get mixed by accident during the process! The seeds we use at the start of each growing season come from the exact same seeds we sell.
ABOUT THESE SEEDS: The Sweet Chocolate sweet pepper is an heirloom, early-maturing bell pepper bred in 1965 by the University of New Hampshire. It features a rich chocolate-brown exterior with brick-red flesh inside, offering a sweet, mild flavor with zero heat.

Growing Tips
Starting Seeds: Start seeds indoors in bright light 8 to 10 weeks before your final spring frost date.
Transplanting: Move outdoors to full sun once nighttime temperatures stay consistently above 60°F.Spacing: Space plants 18 to 24 inches apart in well-drained, compost-enriched soil.
Care: Water deeply and regularly, and stake taller plants to support heavy fruit loads.
Excellent for stuffed peppers, nacho chips & cheese, tacos, chilis, stews, salads, salsas, pickled peppers, on sandwiches, snack crunchers and more!
Sow seeds in flats or pots 8 to 10 weeks prior to the expected outdoor planting date. Sow them shallowly, around 1/4 inch deep. Hot peppers, and especially super-hot peppers, have a well-earned reputation for being finicky to germinate, but you can increase germination rates by providing bottom heat (highly suggested).
Excellent for stuffed peppers, nacho chips & cheese, tacos, chilis, stews, salads, salsas, pickled peppers, on sandwiches, snack crunchers and more!
